Terror-Gangster Conspiracy Case: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested a key aide of notorious jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi for his involvement in providing shelter to his gang members, who were involved in various criminal cases including the RPG attack on Punjab Police’s Intelligence Headquarters, Mohali. are included. Accused Vikas Singh, a resident of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, had given shelter to Deepak Surakhpur and Divyanshu, a resident of Faizabad, who carried out the RPG attack on the intelligence headquarters in Mohali in May 2022. According to a statement released by the NIA, Vikas has revealed that he had given shelter to Deepak Surakhpur and Divyanshu several times at his house and his flat in Deogarh village in Ayodhya.

Vikas Singh is accused in 10 criminal cases

“Vikas Singh is accused in ten criminal cases of murder, attempt to murder, Arms Act and Gangster Act. The NIA investigation revealed that Deepak Surakhpur was introduced to Vikas by Vicky Midhukhera, another aide and friend of Lawrence Bishnoi. Vikas had linked Divyanshu to the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate, which he already knew.

“Both were also involved in several targeted/contract killings including that of businessman Sanjay Biyani in Nanded and Rana Kandhowalia in Punjab. Vikas Singh had also given shelter to another accused named Rinku after the Rana Kandowalia murder case,” the NIA said.

Investigation also revealed that several gangsters or associates from other states like Rinku, Rajpal (MP) and Bhati (MP) were also sheltered by Vikas Singh.

The case pertains to terrorist-gangster nexus in India and abroad

The present case relates to a terrorist-gangster conspiracy hatched by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi criminal syndicate/gang based in India and abroad to raise funds and recruit youth for carrying out terrorist activities in Delhi and other parts of the country.

Investigations so far have revealed that the conspiracy was hatched or was being hatched in jails of various states and was being executed by an organized network of operatives based abroad.

The NIA has already confirmed the involvement of the terror syndicate in several sensational terror cases, including the targeted killing of Dera Sacha Sauda follower Pradeep Kumar in 2022 and the murder of Raju Theth in Sikar, Rajasthan, besides the sensational murder of famous Punjabi . Singer Sidhu Musewala and the RPG attack in Punjab in May 2022.

NIA arrests 15 accused in terror-gangster conspiracy case

The NIA has so far arrested 15 accused and filed a chargesheet against 14 accused, including Lawrence Bishnoi, in the terror-gangster conspiracy case. Others named in the chargesheet are Jagdeep Singh alias Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, Sandeep alias Kala Jatheri, Virendra Pratap Kala Rana, Joginder Singh, Rajesh Kumar alias Raju Mota, Raj Kumar alias Raju Basodi, Anil Chippi, Naresh Yadav. Naresh Sethi alias Seth, Mohd Shahbaz. Ansari alias Shahbaz Ansari alias Shahzad, Satinderjit Singh alias Satwinder alias Goldy Brar, Sachin Thapan alias Sachin Thapan Bishnoi, Anmol Bishnoi alias Bhanu and Vikramjeet Singh alias Vikram Brar.

NIA had filed a charge sheet in this case on 24 March 2023 under various sections of IPC, UA(P) Act 1967 and Arms Act, 1959. Further investigation into the conspiracy is underway as part of NIA’s efforts to bust the growing nexus between terrorists. , gangsters and drug traffickers, and to eliminate their funding and infrastructure.
