Very disappointing from India. New Zealand were amazing. India’s body language was not very good, poor shot selection and like in the past, New Zealand have almost made sure that we will not make it to the next stage. It will hurt India and time for some serious introspection #IndvsNZ— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) 31 October 2021
Team India should suffer from this defeat. Probable with the bat, his shot selection was questionable. New Zealand bowled brilliantly, but India made their job easy. With their net run rate also declining, a place in the semi-finals seems a distant dream #INDvNZ # T20 World Cup— VVS Laxman (@VVSLaxman281) 31 October 2021
In any major tournament you cannot just convert playing 11 to one game and get the desired result. Players need consistency and I am surprised that this is happening with some big names taking decisions. #end—Irfan Pathan (@IrfanPathan) 31 October 2021

India should learn from all other countries… allow their players to play in other leagues around the world to gain experience… #India # T20 World Cup— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) 31 October 2021
I know it’s disappointing to say the least and there’s a lot of sadness and maybe even anger.. but let’s not forget that we were beaten by two excellent cricket teams in a format where even the minors were most likely to be upset. Good chance. We lost to two top quality teams. – Rohan Gavaskar (@rohangava9) 31 October 2021
It is not looking good for India.. but we all want India to stay in the tournament. This early dismissal of India will not bode well for the event. #INDvsNZ #ICCT20WorldCup— Azhar Ali (@AzharAli_) 31 October 2021
India skipper Kohli termed his team’s dedication as ‘bizarre’. He uttered no words in analyzing the humiliating defeat and admitted that the unit was not ‘brave’ enough in the game.

“Quite bizarre. I don’t think we were brave enough with bat or ball. We didn’t have much to defend but we weren’t brave enough when we got on the field. When you play for the Indian cricket team, you get a lot. All the expectations are there – not just from the fans, but from the players as well.”
