The 49th International Emmy Awards ceremony is back and will be held on Monday, November 22 in New York, United States. The award ceremony will be available for live streaming on the International Emmy Academy website. Interested viewers can tune in on Tuesday, November 23 at 5.30 am IST, which means Monday, November 22, at 7 pm Eastern Time in the US.
Indian Nominees at This Year’s International Emmy Awards
This year, 44 nominees in 11 categories from 24 countries are competing for the coveted award. Three of these candidates are from India. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vir Das and Sushmita Sen have won nominations for their impressive work on the OTT platform.
Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe (1994), Disney+. On Sushmita’s web series Hotstar Arya has been nominated in the Best Drama Series category. This series was co-produced by Ram Madhvani and Sandeep Modi. Arya is a crime thriller starring Sushmita as the protagonist.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been nominated for the International Emmys 2021 for Best Performance by an Actor category Netflix Film Serious Men. Directed by Sudhir Mishra, Serious Men is adapted from Manu Joseph’s book of the same name.
Stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das is also one of the nominees at this year’s International Emmy Awards. Netflix’s show Vir Das: For India has been nominated in the Best Comic Act category.
Some other notable nominees for this year’s International Emmy Awards include the South Korean drama It’s OK to Not Be OK starring Seo Ye Ji, Kim Soo-hyun and Oh Jung-se in lead roles. This is the first time a South Korean drama has been nominated for an International Emmy Award.
