Patiala: Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was recently released from jail, on Sunday (April 16) claimed that he had seen an “unknown suspicious character” on the terrace of his residence in Patiala, Punjab. The Congress leader said the suspect’s character was wrapped in a brown blanket. He further said that this object was seen at around 7 pm on Sunday.

Sidhu said in a tweet, “Today an unidentified suspicious person wrapped in a gray blanket was seen on the terrace of my residence around 7:00 p.m. As soon as my servant raised the alarm and called for help, he immediately ran And ran away. He further said that he has spoken to the DGP of Punjab Police and the SSP of Patiala.”Talked to @DGPPunjabPolice and SSP Patiala has also been informed,” he added.

Pledged to keep raising voice for Punjab

Sidhu further said, ‘This lapse in security will not stop me from raising my voice for Punjab.’ He also tagged Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in the tweet.

The cricketer-turned-politician was today (April 1) released from Patiala jail, almost 10 months after he was sentenced to one-year jail term by the Supreme Court in a three-decade-old road rage case.
