Narasimhanand booked for communal remarks in ‘Hindu Mahapanchayat’, Delhi Police registers 3 FIRs

new Delhi: Controversial seer Yeti Narasimhananda was on Sunday booked along with other speakers for allegedly delivering hate speech at a “Hindu mahapanchayat”.

In Sunday’s mahapanchayat, Narasimhanand had said that if a Muslim becomes the prime minister of the country, “50 per cent of Hindus will be converted” in 20 years.

According to news agency PTI, the police said that they had refused permission for the event, but the organizers still went ahead with the “mahapanchayat gathering” and around 700-800 people were present at the venue.

He informed that three FIRs have been registered in connection with the incident and legal action is also being taken against those spreading rumors and misinformation using various platforms including social media.

All cases are being investigated and no arrests have been made so far, PTI told the police.

Delhi Police said in a statement that a request letter was received from Preet Singh, President, Save India Foundation, seeking permission to organize the event in the North-West district.

“The request was denied on the ground that the organizer did not have any permission from the land-owning agency – Delhi Development Authority – to organize the gathering at Burari Maidan. Despite the Delhi Police’s refusal, the organizer Preet on Sunday Singh arrived in the morning at Burari Maidan with his supporters and began organizing the Hindu Mahapanchayat Sabha. Around 700-800 people gathered at the venue and the organizer’s invitees started giving speeches from the stage,” the statement read, as Quoted by PTI.

Narasimhanand asks Hindus to ‘take up arms’

The cases came after Narasimhananda, notorious for making communal remarks against Muslims, sparked another controversy with his remark that if a Muslim becomes the Prime Minister of India then “50 percent of Hindus will be converted” in 20 years.

Addressing the “Hindu Mahapanchayat”, he also called upon the Hindus to take up arms to fight for their existence.

Preet Singh of Save India Foundation organized the Mahapanchayat. Earlier, a similar controversial event was organized at Jantar Mantar in the national capital where anti-Muslim slogans were raised.

In Sunday’s mahapanchayat, Narasimhananda remarked that Hindus should stop “begging” for their rights.
