Green Vigil activist and former NMC ambassador Clean India Mission, folder chatter Said: “Once again we failed the certification. Amazingly, last year we had scored 500 out of 1,500 and maintained the same score out of 1800 this year too. It clearly shows that we wanted to. failed in its attempts to obtain certification.”
TOI has been reporting about poor sanitation management by NMC. Despite giving more money to two private agencies – AG Enviro and BVG India – door-to-door garbage collection has not improved. Indeed, forcing the mayor, it got worse. Dayashankar Tiwari To constitute an inquiry committee headed by the leader of the ruling party and senior BJP councilor Avinash Thakre,
Chatterjee said, “Without a solid waste treatment plant, we would never be able to reach the first 10 as about 40% of the total marks are allocated for solid waste collection, transportation and treatment. We would not score even under GFC. By appointing two new agencies with new infrastructure, the garbage collection is not up to the mark.”
