Telugu superstar Nagarjuna is proud of his son Naga Chaitanya for how he dealt with separation from Samantha Ruth Prabhu. For those unaware, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya announced their separation in October last year. They confirmed this by issuing a statement on their respective Instagram handles. “After much deliberation and deliberation, (we) have decided to separate as husband and wife to continue on our path,” it read. The two have been gracefully silent about their divorce in public.
While the family had kept silence on the partition, Nagarjuna has now addressed it in a recent media interaction ahead of his upcoming film Bangaraju. Speaking to Firstpost, Nagarjuna said, “I am very proud of how calm he (Naga Chaitanya) remained amidst all this. He was not provoked to utter a single word. Like any father, I was very worried about him. But he was more worried. I wasn’t about him than me. He used to ask me, ‘Are you okay, Dad?’ And I’d be like, err, ‘Isn’t this what I should be asking you?'”
Hours after Samantha and Naga’s separation was announced in October, Nagarjuna said in a statement, “With a heavy heart let me say this! Whatever happened between Sam and Chai is very unfortunate. What happens between is very personal. Sam and Chai are both dear to me. My family will always cherish the moments we spent with Sam and he will always be dear to us. May God give strength to both of them.”
Recently, Naga Chaitanya revealed that the decision to separate from his wife Samantha was taken in their mutual interest. Naga Chaitanya replied, “My entire family stood by me during those difficult times. It was a decision taken in the best interest of both of us. He is happy. I am also happy. We both are doing well professionally as well. Huh.” A media query. Telugu was speaking at an event to mark the completion of his latest film ‘Bangaaraju’.
