Mandya: The farming community in the Cauvery heartland is a happy lot. The iconic Mysugar factory, one of the important sugar factories of Mysuru region, has started its operations on Thursday.
Mandya district K Gopalaiah along with silk, youth empowerment and sports minister KC Narayangowda launched the sugarcane-crushing operation at Mysugar factory. Gopalaiah stated that everyone should cooperate to run the factory which is beneficial to the farmers.
He said CM Basavaraj Bommai will visit the factory shortly. He said that 4,000 tons of sugarcane is expected to be crushed this year and efforts will be made to design a new factory, he said.
