Muzaffarpur: 6 killed, many trapped in boiler explosion in noodle factory

At least five people were killed and six were injured when a boiler exploded at a noodle factory in Muzaffarpur, District Magistrate Pranav Kumar said. The blast took place at 10 pm on Saturday and was so loud that its sound was heard up to 5 km away from the spot.

An adjacent flower mill was destroyed by the impact of the blast and two laborers sleeping inside were also injured. The factory is located in Bela Industrial Area of ​​Muzaffarpur.

While rescue operations are still on to clear the debris, sources said that more than 10 bodies are trapped inside the factory.

Muzaffarpur Senior Superintendent of Police Jayant Kant, who visited the spot, said, “We have recovered six bodies from the rubble so far. Apart from this, five people have also been injured and have been admitted to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital.”

“Rescue operations are currently underway. Firefighters and police personnel are clearing debris. The exact number of deaths is not yet known.”
