Muslim college going to open in Punjab: Shahi Imam said – daughter of every religion will study, there is no restriction on hijab or tilak

Habib Girls College is being constructed in Ludhiana by Muslim society in Punjab. This will be the first Muslim college in Punjab for which a meeting was held on Monday at the city’s historic Jama Masjid. The Head Sahiban and Imam Sahiban of different mosques and responsible of social organizations attended the meeting.

A historic decision was taken in the meeting. Shahi Imam Punjab Maulana Mohammad Usman Rahmani Ludhiana announced that Habib Girls College is being established in Ludhiana for daughters on behalf of Muslim society. This college was the dream of late Shahi Imam Punjab Maulana Habib ur Rehman Sani Ludhianwin, hence it has been dedicated to him.

Shahi Imam said that the place for the college has been taken near Jalandhar Bypass. Soon the design of the campus will be finalized and the college will be started. The foundation ceremony of the college will be held on September 10. This will be the General College. In this, the needy daughters of all religions will be given free education. The daughter of every religion will be able to get education in it.

no restriction on dress
The Shahi Imam said that Muslim daughters would have the freedom to study in this college with hijab, Sikh daughters Dastar and Hindu daughters wearing tilak. No restriction will be imposed on any daughter regarding the dress. All degree courses including MA, BA, will be conducted. Namazis from all the mosques of the city and the state will contribute to make the grand building of the college.

Ahrar Foundation (NGO) has been established to run this work smoothly. An advisory board based on intellectuals, industrialists, bureaucrats and religious scholars is being formed to guide the college. The hostel of the college will be built simultaneously, so that the daughters of minority community from all the cities of Punjab can stay here and get education.
