Mumbra Police Summons Nupur Sharma Over Prophet Muhammad’s Remarks

Former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma has been summoned by the Mumbra police in Maharashtra for her alleged objectionable remarks against Prophet Mohammad during a televised debate. He will have to appear before the police on June 22.

Cases have been registered against him in Mumbra, Pydhonie and Thane. Now he has been called to record his statement.

Pydhonie police in south Mumbai registered a case against Nupur Sharma on the basis of a complaint by Irfan Sheikh, joint secretary of the Mumbai wing of Raza Academy.

Sheikh alleged that Sharma made derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad and his wife Ayesha, who are “worshiped by Muslims”.
