Mumbai records zero COVID deaths for the first time since pandemic began

COVID-19 has hit the country’s commercial capital the most in the country with a total of 751,293 infections and 16,180 deaths so far.

Currently, the city’s doubling rate has increased to 1,214 days, with the recovery rate now at 97 per cent.

With no containment zones in the city’s chawls or slums, only 50 buildings are now under seal, a major improvement over the tense days in the first and second COVID waves when these figures ran into the thousands.
