Schools in Mumbai will reopen for classes 8 to 12 from October 4, in adherence to the Covid-19 Standard Operating Protocol (SOP) issued by the Maharashtra government, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner Iqbal Chahal said on Wednesday. A decision regarding the reopening of schools for the rest of the classes will be taken in November. Meanwhile, the city recorded over 500 cases for the third time in September as 527 persons tested positive, while six patients succumbed to the infection.
