New Delhi: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) played ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ from a loudspeaker outside Shiv Sena party headquarters ‘Shiv Sena Bhavan’ on the occasion of Ram Navami on Sunday morning.
This comes a week after the party played ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ from a loudspeaker at its office in Ghatkopar.
In the latest incident, the Mumbai Police stopped the Hanuman Chalisa being played over loudspeakers by the Raj Thackeray-led party.
Mumbai Police has detained MNS leader Yashwant Kildar and a taxi driver in connection with the incident. News agency ANI reported that both are being questioned while no case has been registered so far.

These incidents came after MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s warning that his party would play Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers outside mosques if the loudspeakers for Azaan were not removed.
“I am not against namaz, you can offer namaz at your home, but the government should take a decision to remove the loudspeakers of the mosque. I am just giving a warning…” the MNS chief was quoted as saying by ANI.
Last week, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had said that the government would discuss the court’s order in the matter and talk to Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil.
“With regard to loudspeakers, we had said that we will discuss the court order,” he said. I had said earlier in this matter that we will talk to the Home Minister about this.
Earlier, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had also said that Maharashtra Home Minister has given notice to maintain decibel level for Azaan.
Meanwhile, Raj Thackeray has also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conduct raids on mosques in Muslim areas of Mumbai as he alleged that the people living there are “pro-Pakistani”.
“I appeal to PM Modi to raid madrassas in Muslim slums. Pakistani supporters are living in these shanties. Mumbai Police knows what is happening there… Our MLAs are using them for vote-bank So, such people don’t even have Aadhar card, but MLAs get them made,” he was quoted as saying by ANI.
