1. Pushkar Singh Dhami will become the third CM of Uttarakhand in 4 months
Pushkar Singh Dhami will be the 11th Chief Minister of Uttarakhand after the resignation of Tirath Singh Rawat. After the resignation of Tirath Singh Rawat on Friday, his name was stamped in the BJP Legislature Party meeting on Saturday afternoon. Dhami is an MLA from Khatima Legislative Assembly in Uttarakhand. He will take the oath of office on Sunday.

2. BJP wins 67 out of 75 seats of district panchayat president in UP
BJP has registered a record victory in the election of the district panchayat president in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP has won 65 out of 75 seats in the state. BJP-backed candidates have won two seats. Whereas SP has got 5 seats. One has been captured by its ally RLD. In 22 districts of the state already candidates were elected victorious unopposed. Of these, 21 seats were captured by the BJP and one by the SP.

6. Data release of Phase-3 trial of Covaxin, 78% effective against coronavirus
Hyderabad-based company Bharat Biotech has released the final data of the Phase-3 clinical trial of its corona vaccine Covaxin. In this, the efficacy of the vaccine has been found to be 77.8%. At the same time, B.1.617.2 that became a cause of concern worldwide, i.e. its efficiency against the Delta variant is 65%. Covaxin is 93.4% effective in severe symptoms and 63.6% effective in mild symptoms. Phase-3 trials were conducted on 25,800 people in 25 hospitals. The trial results have been published in the MedRxiv Pre Print Server.
