Immunization practice is regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level as a tool to protect the most vulnerable population groups in the country from COVID-19.

The Union Health Ministry on Thursday said that the total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered so far in the country has crossed 45.55 crore.

According to the provisional report at 7 pm, around 47 lakh vaccine doses have been given on Thursday.

The ministry said that 22,83,018 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday in the age group of 18-44 years for the first time and 4,34,990 as second doses.

Overall, 14,66,22,393 people in the age group of 18-44 years across all states and union territories have given their first dose and 76,51,261 second dose since the start of the third phase of the vaccination campaign.

Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have given more than one crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine to the age group of 18-44 years.

Also, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have given the first dose of vaccine to 10 lakh beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 years. , said the ministry.

Till the 195th day of the vaccination campaign, 46,52,914 doses of vaccine were given. According to the provisional report, 30,83,757 beneficiaries were given the first dose and 15,69,157 the second dose, the ministry said.

The Health Ministry said that the final report of the day would be completed by late night.
