Mona Patel, an Entrepreneur and a Philanthropist made head turns and is now going viral with her stunning appearance in a ‘mechanical butterflies’ dress on the red carpet.
Met Gala, the biggest fashion night, is an event where fashion meets art, and renowned celebs from around the globe walk down the red carpet in their unique yet stylish looks. This year the grand event took place on May 6 at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. The theme for the night was ‘The Garden of Time’ based on the art museum’s Costume Institute’s spring exhibition ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’. The red carpet was a visual feast with celebs making style statements.
Among all the renowned celebs, Mona Patel, an Entrepreneur and a Philanthropist made head turns with her stunning appearance in a ‘mechanical butterflies’ dress on the red carpet. She made her grand debut at the biggest fashion night in a gorgeous nude-toned floor-grazing strapless gown which perfectly matched the night’s theme.
The custom-made outfit crafted by Dutch designer Iris Van Herpen and celebrity stylist Law Roach featured an intricate butterfly-shaped corset with oversized scallops shaped like wings. Keeping the line with the theme of the night ‘The Garden of Time’ the outfit features a bunch of butterflies on the sleeves attached to gold cuff bracelets, moving slowly as if they are gloves creating an illusion.
Opening about her look for the Met Gala 2024, Patel told Vogue India, “I wanted my debut look to be something that celebrates my heritage and also combines my love couture, and when I heard of the theme, Iris Van Herpen seemed like an obvious choice.”
Taking to Instagram, Patel shared a series of stunning pictures of her outfit that she captioned, “Heading to MET my team still feels surreal.”
Her makeup artist Sidney Jamila, left no stone unturned to make Patel look like a diva, with nude makeup, darkened brows, mascara-laden lashes, and a nude lip shade which perfectly complimented her look for the gala event.
As for the accessories, Patel kept it minimal and just opted for statement diamond earrings. For the tresses, she styled her hair into a sleek bun.
