Maruti Suzuki Jimny and modification will always go hand in hand. The tuning potential of the SUV is immense, and it is indeed an easy task to spot modified avatars of the Jimny around the world. Many of these small offroaders have been customized to look like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class in three-door format. Now, an Indian tuning house has fitted the G-Wagen kit on the 5-door Jimny. Needless to say, it looks sick and good. The modification has been done by VM Customs, and is pretty neat. In this avatar, Jimmy manages to hide his identity well.
The kit includes front bumper, fenders, wheel arch extensions, bonnet, door cladding, side steps, roof spoiler, auxiliary lights, rear bumper, headlamps, tail lamps and most importantly – bonnet-mounted turn indicators. The 5-door Jimny carries the G-Class essence, and with this kit, it is brought out quite clearly. Also, the interiors have been changed with a red-black theme. The designers have used leather to give the cabin a premium feel. However, no major changes have been made to the cabin of the car.
Powering this modified Jimny is the stock 1.5L, 4-cylinder, NA petrol motor, which is capable of producing a maximum power output of 105 PS and 138 Nm of peak torque. In addition, there are two transmission options available on the Jimny – 4-speed AT and 5-speed MT. Talking about the prices, the ex-showroom price of Jimny starts from Rs. 12.74 lakhs. The Jimny is available in two variant options – Zeta and Alpha.
Talking about the features, Maruti Suzuki Jimny has 6 airbags as standard. It gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry and go, automatic climate control and more.
