Harnaaz Sandhu is at the ninth position after being crowned Miss Universe 2021 after a 21-year wait. Since her historic win, the model/actor has publicly praised Priyanka Chopra, whom she calls an inspiration. In a recent interview, Harnaaz said that she would like to work in a biopic based on the life of Desi Girl as he has inspired her throughout her journey. He further said that like her, Priyanka will “continue to inspire lakhs of people”.
During an interview with Bollywood Hungama from Miss Universe 2021, she was requested to choose a celebrity whose biopic she would like to star in. The diva took the name PeeCee without hesitation and said that the actress’ journey has always inspired her. In terms of inspiration for the pageant, Harnaaz earlier told ETimes, “I got inspired by Lara Dutta, Sushmita Sen and Priyanka Chopra, through them I realized that I want to inspire people the way they are doing. Huh.”
Following her victory, Harnaaz was showered with love and well wishes from across the world including former Miss World PeeCee and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta. Priyanka took to Twitter to applaud and congratulate Sandhu after her historic win at Miss Universe 2021, writing, “And the new Miss Universe is…Miss India. Congratulations @HarnaazSandhu03…bringing the Taj home after 21 years!”

After Harnaaz won Miss Universe 2021, Priyanka told Fox5, “I was very excited about it. Lara Dutta was India’s last Miss Universe in the year 2000. This is the year I won Miss World. She (Harnaaz) has won the crown. 21 years later, and she’s 21, so she was born the same year I won Miss World. I’m excited for her, and I hope it’s the start of an incredible journey. She’s clearly very She’s smart and beautiful, and I’m so excited for her.”
