Miss Marvel finale: Iman Vellani’s show teases epic X-Men connection, hints at his interesting future in the MCU

WARNING: Spoilers Ahead – The sixth and final episode of MCU’s Ms Marvel dropped today, July 13, and it teased several upcoming events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the last episode, Kamala sees her family members revealing the truth about her identity. While she finds support in them, they are also afraid of her upcoming adventure. With Bruno and Kamran in danger, Kamala has to go home to rescue them. In Jersey, the boys unite with Nakia and attempt to evade the damage control department and the police as Kamran’s new superpowers threaten them.

They hide in the mosque that has been attacked by the police for the ninth time but the three narrowly escape. Outside, they meet Kamala and eventually they all decide to make their high school their hideout. Meanwhile, Kamala alerts Karim, a member of the Red Dagger, about Kamran’s condition and asks for his help.

Inside the school, Kamala and her friends are joined by her brother Amir, as desi parents will never leave their girls alone, even if he is a superhero with supernatural abilities. They devise a plan to distract the officers so that Kamran gets enough time to escape. His plan, though it seemed straight out of a Home Alone movie, was a sweet comic relief.

Kamran eventually learns about the death of his mother Najma. Although initially unable to handle the news, Kamala helps him straighten his head and makes him realize that his mother has given up everything for him so that he can live.

While saving Kamran from the police, Kamala also saves several civilians, including her parents, who gather outside the school, restoring the public’s trust in her. Kamran finally escapes and meets Karim and Kamala finds a new purpose for her superhero.

However, the season doesn’t end before a possible relationship with the X-Men is teased. Before leaving for Caltech, Bruno tells Kamala that her gene structure is different from the rest of her family and informs her that her genes mutate. It thus indicates that Kamala is a mutant and perhaps more will be revealed on that front when Kamala returns to The Marvels alongside Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau.

This brings us to another surprise in the episode – the superhero of Carol Danvers aka Kamala aka Captain Marvel. Although the two amazing ladies don’t get to share the screen space, we do see a gleam of light through Kamala’s bracelet. When she tries to decode it, she is taken to an unknown location and replaced by Carol, who then surveys the room and realizes that she has ended up in a teenager’s place. . The episode ends there.

Ms. Marvel, from the start, had one thing right or at least different from other MCU series – the protagonist’s connection to her culture and heritage that became a part of her superhero journey. Despite the quintessential heroic elements, Kamala and her community’s fight to find and retain their place did not backfire. Overall, with its flaws and inconsistencies, Miss Marvel has been a delightful and refreshing watch.

Miss Marvel, starring Iman Vellani, Mohan Kapoor, Zenobia Shroff, Sagar Sheikh, Rishya Shah, Farhan Akhtar, Matt Lintz, Yasmin Fletcher, Fawad Khan and Mehwish Hayat, is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
