Uma Harathi, who secured AIR 3, completes her graduation from IIT Hyderabad
Girls occupy the top four positions among the 933 candidates shortlisted to become IAS, IPS and IFS officers.
Union Services of Public Commission (UPSC) declared its UPSC Civil Services Final Result for 2022 on May 23, 2023. As per reports, it has been found that out of 933 candidates who have been shortlisted to become IAS, IPS and IFS officers, the top four positions are occupied by girls. Three of the top four are from Delhi University, and one from IIT Hyderabad.
Ishita Kishore secured AIR 1, Garima Lohia secured AIR 2, and Smriti Mishra secured AIR 4. All three have completed their graduation from different colleges of Delhi University. Uma Harathi, who secured AIR 3, completed her graduation from IIT Hyderabad.
UPSC AIR 1 Ishita Kishore has graduated from Shri Ram College of Commerce, DU, and had Political Science and International Relations as his optional subjects in UPSC Mains. Garima Lohia, who secured UPSC AIR 2, was a commerce student of DU’s Kirori Mal College. He had Accounts and Commerce as his optional subject in the exam. UPSC AIR 4 Smriti Mishra B.Sc. Student from Miranda House and took Zoology as an optional subject in Mains.

Ishita Kishore More
UPSC AIR 1 Ishita Kishore hails from Greater Noida, UP. After completing his graduation, he also worked as a Risk Manager in an MNC. Her father is an Air Force officer. It was found that she is quite fond of paintings and takes interest in Madhubani designs. Reportedly, he cleared the exam in his third attempt.
Garima Lohia
UPSC AIR 2 Garima Lohia hails from Buxar, Bihar. His father was a businessman, but he passed away in 2015. After the father’s death, Garima’s mother took care of all the three children in the family. She studied till 10th standard in Buxar and then went to Banaras and then to Delhi for further studies. However, he had to return in 2020 due to the pandemic. Smriti Mishra
UPSC AIR 4 Smriti Mishra is from Prayagraj. His father Rajkumar Mishra is CO second in Bareilly. Rajkumar Mishra told the media that his daughter had decided that she would become an IAS officer after 10th.
