Mandar assembly voting: Voting underway for Jharkhand’s Mandar assembly seat, counting of votes will be held on June 26

Voting for the by-election to Mandar assembly seat of Jharkhand is underway at 7 am amid tight security. Polling is being held at 433 centers in Mandar, which will continue till 4 pm. More than 3.54 lakh voters will be able to exercise their franchise in the by-election, in which 1.75 lakh are women. Counting of votes will take place on June 26.

Over 3,000 security personnel, including Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP), Central Reserve Police Force (CIPF) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), have been deployed in view of the polling.

The bypoll to the seat is being held after MLA Bandhu Tirkey was disqualified after he was convicted in a corruption case.
