Coimbatore: A 50-year-old man stabbed his 22-year-old son to death Thudiyalur Here on Monday.

“Mohammed was paralyzed for the past 12 years and started walking six months back. Shah Jahan, an alcoholic, often worked on the cot. Umeera, the housekeeping staff at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH), was driving home with the help of her 17-year-old son,” said a police officer.
Shah Jahan often demanded money from his mother to buy liquor. On Monday, at around 1 pm, a drunk Shah Jahan again demanded money, but Umera refused. In anger, Shah Jahan tried to stab him with a knife. Muhammad He snatched the knife and stabbed him. He died on the spot,” said the officer. “Shah Jahan was facing a case of robbery and assault.”
Thudiyalur police sent the body to CMCH for post-mortem. Police registered a case against Mohammad under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code and arrested him on Monday.
