Major accident in Mumbai: 11 killed in landslide in Chembur area, many feared trapped under debris; 16 was rescued

Due to incessant rains in Mumbai, there was a landslide in the Chembur area on Sunday morning. 11 people are reported to have died in this accident. 16 people have been rescued. According to reports, five houses have collapsed. Debris has been removed from two houses. Debris is yet to be removed from three houses.

Rain wreaks havoc in Mumbai
It has been raining intermittently since Thursday night in Mumbai. Water has flooded inside houses in many areas. The people living on the ground floor are facing problems. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding rain. Roads have been flooded in many low-lying areas including Borivali, Kandivali, Chembur. Sion railway track has been submerged. BMC has changed the routes of buses. People are facing lot of difficulties in commuting.
