Some deserving names were eventually rewarded as they got a call on the Indian side for the upcoming tour of Ireland, where they would play a few T20Is before moving on to travel to England. Among them was Rahul Tripathi who had a stellar IPL where he scored over 400 runs. It was expected that they would get a call for the South Africa series but they failed to make the cut.
Apart from them, Sanju Samson also makes the cut. The Kerala cricketer remains a hit on social media with his fans gunning for his selection. Despite leading RR to the final this season, Samson was overlooked for the home series against South Africa. Despite his ODI debut in 2015, Samson has played a few matches in the blue jersey. Meanwhile, Twitter exploded as soon as the team went public.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya has been named India’s captain for the upcoming two T20 Internationals against Ireland while Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be the vice-captain. Rahul Tripathi has also been included in the team for the first time while Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson are also making a comeback in India’s middle order. India are set to play two T20Is in Ireland after which they will travel to neighboring England where they will play three T20Is. The series will miss KL Rahul who has already been ruled out of the only Test match to be played at Edgbaston.
