Mahindra XUV700 Passes Safety Test: GNCAP Gives 5 Star Safety Rating For Adults And 4 Star For Children In Crash Test

Mahindra’s XUV700 has received a 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test. The Global New Car Assessment Program (GNCAP) has given it a 5-star rating for adult safety and 4-star for child safety, which means its name has also been added to the list of the safest cars in the country. The entry-level variant of the XUV700 was used during the Global NCAP crash test. It gets two airbags, ABS brakes and ISOFIX.

Global NCAP said that the entry level Mahindra XUV700 will include features such as side body airbags, side head curtain airbags, electronic stability control (ESC) and three point belts in all seating positions.

Scored 57.69 out of 66 in crash test

During the crash test, this Mahindra SUV got a score of 57.69 out of 66 during the adult and child crash tests. It received a 5-star rating for Adult and 4-Star for Children. NCAP has also described it as India’s safe car. There are many different crash tests performed during the crash test like frontal offset, side impact, full width and oblique pole.

How is crash test done?
Crash test of cars of almost all companies is done by NCAP. A dummy is used in the car for this test. This dummy is made like a human. During the test, the vehicle is collided with a hard object at a fixed speed. During this 4 to 5 dummies are used in the car. There is a baby dummy in the back seat. It is fixed on the child safety seat. After the crash test, the rating is given on the basis of whether the airbags of the car worked or not, how much damage was done to the dummy.

Mahindra has launched the XUV700 in four variants. Including the MX, AX3, AX5 and AX7. These also include different variants. There will be 2 variants in MX, 5 variants in AX3, 6 variants in AX5 and 7 variants in AX7.

It is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol Mahindra mStallion unit petrol engine that produces 200hp of power and 380Nm of torque. At the same time, the vehicle has a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder mHawk turbocharged diesel engine. It produces 155hp power and 360Nm torque. At the same time, the engine of its high variant generates 185hp power and 420Nm torque. The diesel engine comes with four drive modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom and Custom. Both engines will get 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox options.

The car will get a stylish and raised grille. In the center of which the new logo of the company has been fixed. Large C-shaped LED DRLs have been installed on either side of the grille. It has projector headlights installed inside. Newly designed fog lamps have been installed in the bumper at the bottom. Pop-out door handles have been installed in the vehicle. At the rear, there are large tail lights and twin five-spoke alloy wheels.

The vehicle has ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). It includes Forward Collision Warning (FCW), which warns you of a possible collision. If the driver does not respond, it uses the Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB) to stop the car.
