A Maharashtra Congress leader courted controversy on Monday (June 13) after he allegedly attacked the Prime Minister while participating in a protest organized by the party in Nagpur over the questioning of Rahul Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Made objectionable remarks against Narendra Modi.

Former Nagpur Congress unit president Sheikh Hussain made the alleged remarks criticizing the PM for questioning party leader Rahul Gandhi by the ED in connection with a money laundering probe involving the National Herald newspaper.

A large number of Congress leaders and workers from Vidarbha region of Maharashtra demonstrated outside the ED office in Nagpur to express solidarity with Gandhi.

BJP’s action against the comment:

Objecting to Hussain’s remarks against Modi, the Nagpur BJP had earlier said that it would file a police complaint against him on Tuesday (June 14).

Nagpur BJP spokesperson Chandan Goswami alleged that Hussain used objectionable language against the prime minister during his speech at the protest site and said the party would approach the police in this regard.
