Maharashtra CM: ‘Aashirvaad’ is putting rallies in danger, held despite threat of third wave

In a veiled attack on the BJP, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday said ‘Ashirwad’ rallies are being organized despite the threat of a third wave of COVID-19 “which is endangering people’s lives”. . Speaking virtually after the inauguration. An oxygen plant set up by Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik in Thane, the CM said, “don’t care if some people die because of such rallies”.

The newly appointed Union Ministers of the BJP recently organized ‘Jan Ashirwad’ rallies to seek the blessings of the people. As the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) defied the ban and tried to organize Dahi Handi celebrations in Mumbai and Thane on Tuesday, Thackeray said the MVA government is not against any festival but only fighting against coronavirus . There is a threat of a third wave of Kovid-19 but some people are still organizing ‘Blessing’ rallies. Shiv Sena chief Thackeray said that they are not seeking blessings from the people but they are putting people’s lives in danger.

He said that when Shiv Sena was formed, it was announced that the party would do 80 per cent social work and 20 per cent politics. But today there are parties in the country which are 100% in politics. He said that they do not want to do any such work which benefits the people but they are organizing rallies and programs which put their lives in danger.

Thackeray said that if some people are killed due to such rallies then these people do not care. Thackeray also said that he is missing the fervor of Dahi Handi due to restrictions that do not allow public celebrations of the festival.

Dahi Handi festival or ‘Gopalkala’ is celebrated a day after Janmashtami to mark the birth of Lord Krishna. I must admit that I have been missing the excitement and celebrations of Dahi Handi for the past few years. I had personally attended some such programs in the past, Thackeray recalled.

The MNS celebrated the traditional Dahi Handi festival in Thane and neighboring Palghar district, even though celebrations have been banned in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Four workers of the Raj Thackeray-led party and eight others were booked for violating COVID-19 norms by organizing a Dahi Handi event in central Mumbai’s Worli area on Tuesday and arrested two workers, police said. had gone.

The CM said that the MVA government is not fighting against any festival but against Kovid-19. “This (pandemic) is not a state (sponsored) programme. During social life everyone has to follow the guidelines which are common across the world. He said that the Kovid-19 epidemic (by setting up oxygen production plants), but unfortunately this is not happening. Such maturity is not seen in some people. These people are posing a threat to the lives of others, he said.

Sarnaik has organized a “health festival” this year instead of the Dahi Handi festival. This is not a fight for the country’s independence. Here, people’s lives are at stake, the chief minister said explicitly referring to the public rallies and other events organized by the BJP in Maharashtra.

Thackeray said he wanted to show the central government’s letter to the states, asking people to avoid crowds during the festive season, “especially those who want to organize agitations in public places”. “Agitations are being carried out in defiance of COVID-19 safety rules. If you want to do any agitation, do it against coronavirus.”
