Maharashtra: Boy and mother kill pregnant sister, click selfie with beheaded

New Delhi: A 17-year-old boy allegedly beheaded his pregnant sister when she married against the wishes of the family and also took a selfie with the severed head. Aurangabad police said on Monday that the boy’s mother was also involved in a suspected honor killing case.

The incident is of Ladgaon in Vaijapur tehsil. The boy has been taken into custody and his mother has been arrested, PTI quoted the police as saying.

Reports said that the 38-year-old mother and her minor son allegedly dragged the victim on her head after killing her and displayed it in front of the woman’s neighbours. Police said they also took selfies with the severed head of the woman, who was married about six months ago.

According to preliminary investigation, the youth and his mother were upset with the woman’s intention to run away and get married. According to the police, the woman and her husband were friends in college.

“Kirti (21) was married to Avinash Thore in Vaijapur on June 21 and she was living in Gayagaon village. This angered her family. Kirti’s minor brother and her mother reached her house and when he made tea for them When she was there, her head was cut off.” Divisional police officer Kailash Prajapati told PTI.

Another officer said, “The minor and his mother also took a selfie with Keerti’s head. The mutilated body was found by her husband Avinash in the kitchen. Both the accused reached Vaijapur police station after committing the crime.”
