Maharashtra BJP to bring adjournment motion on ‘failed’ promises on Maratha reservation – Henry Club

BJP Adjournment motion to be introduced in the state assembly on Monday Maratha Reservation And the promises that were made but not fulfilled by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

State BJP president Chandrakant Patil said on Friday, “All the promises made by the MVA government on Maratha reservation and various welfare schemes have remained unfulfilled. The government made false promises to the public. This is a betrayal of trust.”

The current budget session, which began on March 3, will end on March 25. Maratha reservation is an issue that remains unresolved and comes up for discussion and debate in every state assembly session.

BJP MP last month Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati resorted to a fast Demonstrated against non-implementation of welfare schemes for three days. Referring to the fast, Patil said, “I had cautioned Sambhajiraje against the game plan of MVA. He involved Sambhajiraje in a discussion and gave the impression that all the demands would be implemented in a time bound manner. However, after the end of the fast, no steps were taken to implement the plans.

The demands raised by Patil led to the restoration of reservation for the community. According to the demand list, Marathas should get 12 percent reservation in education and 13 percent in jobs, adequate funds should be allocated for Sahu Research and Training Institute (Sarathi) to appoint a good administrator in these institutions. To work smoothly and strengthen the organization and hostels for Maratha students in every district all over Maharashtra. The main demand was to appoint shortlisted candidates whose appointments were put on hold COVID-19,

Last month, the state government at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had announced that all demands relating to the Maratha community would be implemented.

The MVA has promised a vision document for the charioteer which will be prepared after consultation with experts by June 30, 2022. It also promised skill development programs along with new vocational courses. Senior minister Eknath Shinde, who conveyed the government’s message, said, “All vacancies in Sarathi will be filled by March 15, 2022 and land will be provided for seven sub-centres of the institutions.” Sarathi was established in 2016 for the holistic development of Maratha students.

An allocation of Rs 100 crore was made for this purpose, out of which Rs 80 crore was released to Anabhau Economic Development Corporation. The government also assured that the remaining Rs 20 crore would be made available soon and an additional Rs 100 crore would be given through supplementary demands.

The government also said that Maratha students would be entitled to a new credit guarantee loan policy to facilitate their studies and professional courses abroad. The loan amount will be increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. The state government had said that the appointment of administrators in Annabhau Patil Economic Corporation would be done before March 15, 2022.

Officials said all the new hostels built and designed for Maratha students will be inaugurated by the chief minister on Gudi Padwa (Maharashtrian New Year), which is in April 2022.

The main decision taken by the government was to consider the appointment of all those students who were selected under Maratha reservation till September 9, 2020. It was agreed to create new posts to accommodate these candidates in government jobs.

Maratha reservation was implemented for 12 and 13 percent respectively in jobs and education through the Social and Educational Backward Classes Act 2018. Accordingly, the candidates applied for the Government Jobs. The selection process was completed. But in September 2020, the Supreme Court had stayed the reservation due to a PIL questioning the economic backwardness of the Marathas. As a result, all these candidates are waiting for the appointment in the jobs.

The government on Friday gave its consent to recruit the shortlisted eligible candidates in jobs by creating new posts. It also reiterated its commitment to restore Maratha reservation through the legal route.
