In a joint operation with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ​​of the Punjab Police, the ATS arrested the three accused from Kalyan in neighboring Thane district on Sunday evening.

The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested three associates of Punjab-based gangster Sonu Khatri from neighboring Thane district, an official said on Monday.

The ATS, in a joint operation with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ​​of the Punjab Police, arrested the three accused from Kalyan in neighboring Thane district on Sunday evening, the official said.

He said the three were allegedly in touch with gangster-terrorist Harvinder Singh alias Rinda.

He said that acting on specific information received by the Punjab Police, the ATS officials laid a trap at the NRC Colony in Ambivali.

He said that an ATS team comprising officers from Kalachowki and Vikhroli units, with the help of local police and Punjab Police, nabbed the accused from Yadav Nagar.

The trio, who are in their 20s, were involved in cases of murder, attempt to murder, grievous bodily harm, carrying arms and explosives, the official said, adding that the accused would be produced in a court by the Punjab Police.
