State monitoring officer Dr Pradeep Awte said, “This decline in water-borne diseases reflects the better quality of drinking water being supplied to households in both urban and rural areas.”
BMC data shows that hospitalizations due to gastroenteritis have dropped by 70% and hepatitis by 80%.
