“BJP does not have a culture of distributing money. Whether we win or lose, we never distribute money. When someone loses, they make such allegations. We are winning in Kasba and Chinchwad.”

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday denied allegations that the Bharatiya Janata Party was distributing money to win the Kasba bypoll in Pune district.

Polling will be held on Kasba and Chinchwad assembly seats on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Ravindra Dhangekar, the Maha Vikas Aghadi candidate from Kasba, went on a hunger strike, claiming that the BJP distributed money to voters. They called off the dharna after the police assured them that they would investigate the matter.

Countering this, Fadnavis said, “BJP does not have a culture of distributing money. Whether we win or lose, we never share money. When someone is losing ground, they make such allegations. We are winning in Kasba and Chinchwad.”

“These allegations are not against the BJP but are aimed at insulting the voters of the town. The Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party have no right to speak about voters like this, Fadnavis told reporters at the Nagpur airport.
