Lynchings are against Hindutva: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat Strongly advocated religious harmony on Sunday and said that in a democracy like India, there can be no dominance of Hindus or Muslims.
Speaking at an event organized by the Muslim wing of the RSS, Muslim Rashtriya Manch, Bhagwat Said that development is not possible in the country without unity, the basis of which should be nationalism and the glory of ancestors.
“We are in a democracy. There cannot be dominance of Hindus or Muslims. Only Indians can dominate,” he said.
He said that nationalism should be the basis of unity among the people of the country.
Speaking against the incidents of mob lynching, Bhagwat said that those involved in such violent acts are against Hindutva.
Bhagwat said that though at times some false cases of lynching have been registered against the people.
“Don’t fall into the cycle of fear that Islam is in danger in India,” he said at the event.
The RSS chief said that the term “Hindu-Muslim unity” is misleading as Hindus and Muslims are essentially one.
“All Indians have the same DNA, irrespective of religion,” he said, adding that they cannot be separated on the basis of the way people worship them.
Beginning his speech, Bhagwat said that he is not attending the program neither for any image change nor for vote bank politics.
