Ludhiana: Two out of four persons from Ludhiana tested positive for Covid-19, even as no death was reported due to the disease on Thursday.
On August 11, 34 cases were reported in Ludhiana, the highest in more than two months.
According to health bulletinNo death was reported from Ludhiana on Thursday in Ludhiana or Outer district.
Meanwhile, Health Department officials said that not a single death has been reported from Ludhiana, taking the total number of deaths in the district to 2106, while 1053 people have died in Ludhiana hospitals so far from across the district/states.
The Health Department said that so far 2700088 suspects have been tested for COVID-19 in Ludhiana district. It said that two persons from Ludhiana district who tested positive for the disease included one from Flu Corner (with Influenza-like illness) and one person OPD. Two persons from outlying areas tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday.
Officials of the local health department said that till Thursday, the total number of patients from Ludhiana district was 87604 while the number of cases from outside districts/states increased to 11703.
The Civil Surgeon said that so far 85468 COVID-19 positive patients have been cured in Ludhiana district, which is 97.56% of the total cases.
