Ludhiana Court Blast: Police interrogates Gagandeep’s wife, another jail mate. Ludhiana News – Times of India

Ludhiana : Punjab Police questioned Jaspreet Kaur’s wife on Sunday Ludhiana blast Suspect Gagandeep Singh, and an alleged drug peddler, whom the accused met during his jail term.
One of the investigators told TOI that the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) had brought a former jail mate of Gagandeep from Ludhiana jail on a production warrant for questioning in the Khanna case. The interrogated person is an alleged drug smuggler and is related to Gurdeep Singh, former sarpanch of Rano village, who was arrested in November last year by the anti-drug STF’s Ludhiana unit for being part of an international organized drug racket operating from Australia. Was. Gurdeep was among the four arrested in the case, in which 5.39 kg of heroin, three illegal weapons, live cartridges, Rs 21 lakh in cash and eight high-end cars were seized.
Another Khanna police officer said that they have started questioning Gagandeep Singh’s wife after finding fault with her. Jaspreet had earlier told the police that Gagandeep had left the house alone on his two-wheeler. However, in the CCTV footage recovered by the police, a woman sitting behind with Gagandeep has been imprisoned. A white colored two-wheeler has been recovered from the parking lot outside Khanna Bus Stand.
On condition of anonymity, a police officer said, “Initially, we did not suspect that she might play a role, as she was claimed to have a strained relationship with her husband. He used to spend the day away from home. He told us that Gagandeep left home alone on his scooty on Thursday and never returned. However, now the police have got some CCTV footage, in which the couple was seen riding on the same scooty on the same day. Moreover, Gagandeep had given around Rs 1 lakh to his wife just two days before the blast.
“As per his initial statement, we were trying to locate the scooter in Ludhiana. We thought he must have parked it near the court premises or near the bus stand though it was found in Khanna. Gagandeep could have taken a bus from there, traveling with explosives in public transport is not practical. We suspect that Gagandeep had come with someone, who dropped him in the court premises,” said the senior police officer.
On the recovery of an unregistered car from the court premises, the same official said that the police is trying to get the details of the vehicle. “As of now, it does not appear that Gagandeep used that car, though the investigation is still on,” the official said.
Khanna’s 31-year-old Gagandeep Singh, who was dismissed from the Punjab Police on drug smuggling charges, is the prime suspect in the Ludhiana court complex bombings. Police have so far brought two jail inmates Ranjit Singh Cheeta and Sukhwinder Singh alias Boxer on production warrant for questioning. A woman cop, who is believed to be Gangdeep’s friend from his days as a cop, is likely to be called for questioning again. Both Ranjit and Sukhwinder are accused of having links with Pakistan’s ISI.

Gagandeep’s body was cremated in the presence of his family members amidst heavy police presence at a crematorium in Khanna town on Sunday afternoon. Gagandeep’s wife Jaspreet, his father Amarjit Singh, elder brother Pritam Singh Rinku attended the funeral.
