With the COVID-19 pandemic getting better, many universities and colleges are planning to return to physical classes. On October 20, the Maharashtra government had announced to start physical classes in colleges. The students returned to the campus after a year and a half for physical classes as it had come to a standstill due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

The option to continue the online classes was given to those students who could not attend the physical classes due to some reason. Keeping in mind the safety of individuals on campus, the government has allowed only fully vaccinated students to attend physical classes.

Earlier, Delhi University had also reopened its campus for practical classes last month. Classes were resumed from September 15 with 50 per cent student strength. Attending physical classes is mandatory for students who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccination. However, teachers, other staff and students residing in the hostel premises will have to complete both doses of vaccination before returning to the campus.

With the vaccination drive going in full swing, we can expect physical classes to resume in full force in the coming days and weeks. Meanwhile, India achieved 100 crore vaccination doses on October 21, nearly nine months after launching one of the world’s largest vaccination campaigns.

The feat received appreciation from all over the world and many world leaders congratulated the Indian people and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their fight against the deadly pandemic.
