Lt Col Kailash Bansal will be the new controller of examination in AU. Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: The Executive Council of Allahabad University (AU) has endorsed the name of Lieutenant Colonel Kailash Bansal, a serving officer of the Corps of Signals of the Indian Army, for the post of Controller of Examinations.
Presently, Lt Col Bansal is on deputation in All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) as Director. He will take over as CoE from the current CoE Professor Ramendra Kumar Singh.
The post was without regular appointment since 2018 when Prof HS Upadhyay resigned from the post. To ensure that the work is not affected, the university had appointed Professor Ramendra Kumar Singh as the Acting CoE and he was carrying on this responsibility till now.
In June 2021, AU initiated efforts to appoint a regular CoE on the instructions of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sangeeta Srivastava. AU Registrar Prof NK Shukla issued a formal advertisement for the appointment of a CoE for a period of five years.
The Executive Council, besides approving the name of the new CoE, also approved the promotion of seven teachers of AU under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS). The teachers whose promotions have been approved from the post of Associate Professor include Ashil Sumar and Raj Kumar Anand of Physics Department, Renu Johri of Music Department, Ashish Khare and Tanveer J Siddiqui of JK Institute of Applied Physics. Priyamvada Singh of the Department of Earth Planetary Sciences and Jaya Kapoor of the Department of English have also been approved for promotion from the post of Assistant Professor to the post of Associate Professor.
