Last seen in pictures: Gen Rawat’s daughters gaze at late father’s coffin, Brigadier Lidder’s daughter kisses coffin

Both the daughters of General Rawat look at the coffin of the late father at Palam airport.

The mortal remains of 13 people, including CDS General Bipin Rawat and wife Madhulika, who were martyred in the Coonoor helicopter crash, were brought to Palam Airport in New Delhi on Thursday night. Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others, the families of the martyrs were also present here. The atmosphere was very gloomy. Every eye was moist. The daughters of General Rawat kept staring at the father’s body kept in the coffin.

This is Ashna, the daughter of Brigadier Lidder. Ashna, a class 12 student, turned towards her father’s feet, kissed the place.

NSA Ajit Doval also reached for the last glimpse of the martyrs. He came with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Doval consoled the families of all the martyrs.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh arrived shortly before Prime Minister Modi. Here he met the family of martyr General Bipin Rawat. After this he also met the families of other martyrs.

The Chiefs of the three armies also came for the last glimpse of the martyrs. Army Chief General MM Naravane paid homage to all those martyred in the accident including General Rawat.

On Wednesday, 13 people including General Bipin Rawat, wife Madhulika died in the helicopter crash in Coonoor. Photographs of all these were kept at Palam airport.
