The former Bihar CM said that the grand alliance will wipe out the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha and 2025 state assembly elections.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad on Saturday attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying the ruling party at the Center was trying to divide the country on the basis of caste and religion.
In his first major speech after recovering from a kidney transplant operation, Prasad said that the BJP was trying to marginalize the minorities and we have to protect their rights.
“Nobody can break us (Mahagathbandhan) till we are united. We have to save the country. We have to protect the rights of minorities. This time the BJP government will lose and the Grand Alliance will win in Bihar. 2024 will show a landslide victory for our party. We keep saying Hindu, Hindu, Hindu…we are Hindus…but what is the crime of the minorities that you are trying to marginalize them. I will not let them succeed under any circumstances.
Addressing a ‘Mahagathbandhan’ rally in Bihar’s Purnia from his Delhi residence, the former Bihar Chief Minister said that the Mahagathbandhan will wipe out the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha and 2025 state assembly elections.

Prasad’s remarks came on a day Union Home Minister Amit Shah was addressing a rally at Laurua in West Champaran district. Nitish Kumar Responsible for plunging Bihar into ‘Jungle Raj’, for which he used to blame the previous RJD-Congress rule in the state. He compared JD(U)’s alliance with RJD to an “attempt to mix oil with water”.
The RJD supremo further claimed, ‘RSS ideologue MS Golwalkar had opposed reservation for Dalits and OBCs in his book ‘Bunch of Thoughts’. People of BJP act according to what is written in ‘Bunch of Thoughts’.
The BJP has been completely exposed, he said, adding, “I am confident that the saffron party will be wiped out in the 2024 general elections and 2025 state elections.”
Talking about his health, Yadav said, “Though I wanted to attend this rally, my health condition did not allow me to do so. I’m getting better Thank you for your prayers and wishes. I will always be indebted to my daughter Rohini Acharya, who donated one of her kidneys to me.
Acharya, who is in his early 40s, has been garnering praise for donating his kidney to the veteran politician.
