lalu: Rjd Workers Upset Over Lalu’s Jail Term | Patna News – Times of India

PATNA: An eerie silence prevailed at former CM Rabri Devi’s residence at Patna after a special CBI court sentenced her husband and RJD chief Lalu Prasad to five-year jail in yet another fodder scam case on Monday. Though the RJD headquarters witnessed more visitors than usual, the party workers and leaders seemed to be upset after the Ranchi court pronounced the quantum of punishment.
At the party office, most of the workers were glued to their mobile phone screens and listening news. However, no one wanted to comment on the judgment. RJD youth wing state president Qari Sohaib said, “We are a little upset, but hopeful that we will get justice from the higher court. Lalu ji is an icon and an ideology for us.” Sohaib said the party will continue to work on the ideology of Lalu under the leadership of his younger son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, “Every individual of this country knows that BJP is only afraid of Lalu ji and whatever is happening to him is a repercussion of that.”
RJD state general secretary Nirala Yadav too had a similar reply. “RJD is a family and Lalu Ji is its head. If anything happens to the head, other members of the family also get affected. But Lalu ji has a strong will power. We will continue our fight for social justice,” he said.
Lalu’s children took to social media to express their views in favor of their father. Many of the RJD workers even updated their profile pictures with that of Lalu, some comparing him with a lion and some praising him for working for social justice.
