Lakhimpur Violence: Ashish Mishra may appear before the police after the new notice is sent by the police

Lakhimpur Kheri Violence: Union Minister of State for Home (MoS) Ajay Mishra ‘Theni”s son Ashish Mishra is expected to appear before the police at 11 am on Saturday. Police has sent a fresh notice to Ashish Mishra for not appearing on Saturday.

The police sent a new notice to Ashish Mishra, in which it was written that he has to appear before the police at 11 am on Saturday. The development comes after the Supreme Court questioned the Uttar Pradesh government for intervening and delaying arrests in the case.

Ashish has been asked to appear before the police at 10 am on Friday in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence on Friday. Despite appearing on a TV channel earlier, he failed to appear before the police, which prompted the Supreme Court to make some serious comments in the matter.

‘Go and arrest the accused’

Chief Justice of India NV Ramana said that the allegations are very serious.

“We are not on merit. The charge is of 302. Treat him as we treat other people in other matters. It is not that we have sent notice, please come,” said CJI Ramana while hearing the matter, as reported by Live Law

He further commented: “What message are we sending? What will the police do if 302 cases are registered under normal circumstances? Go and arrest the accused!”

Samyukta Kisan Morcha’s statement in this regard read: “… His (Ashish Mishra) is untraceable. News reports indicate that he is shifting and is absconding, several teams of UP Police are on the lookout for him. .

The Morcha expressed “grave concern and shock” over Ashish not being arrested. While investigators waited for his arrival, reports speculated that he may have fled to Nepal.
