Pawan Kumar Yadav, brother-in-law of the groom-Abhishek-told TOI, “I along with my wife, Poonam and other family members have capitalized the idea to create `Vrindavan’ like ambiance at the reception site with both – bride and groom – and other family members wearing the traditional Indian attire.”
“While the groom Abhishek was dressed like Lord Krishna with yellow turban, mor -pankh (peacock feather) on head, flute in hand, moti-mala on neck and red dhoti , the bride Pooja was also dressed like Radha attire,” said Pawan , an IT professional.
The enthusiastic bride and groom, working as IT experts in Mumbai, have also designed their own dresses for their marriage.
Pawan, also mentioned that initially it was the groom’s idea to celebrate his wedding with Vrindavan and Gokul like ambience and he dressed up as ‘Kanhaiya’ since Janmashtami fetsival fell on the same day he was born.
The family members too agreed to his proposal and organized the D-day.
Moreover, implementing the idea to the core, the reception didn’t have any Bollywood songs playing, but only Radha-Krishan bhajans were played.
The reception dais was decorated by the family members themselves with the help of two gardeners with an aim that the set could reflect the real stage of Vrindavan.
“We have a rich culture, rituals and values in our country. Therefore, we organized the reception in such way to spread the message that we should always stay connected to our culture and tradition,” said the family members.
