Kovid-19: 1,531 fresh infections and 19 deaths in Karnataka Bengaluru News – Times of India Times

BENGALURU: Karnataka recorded 1,531 fresh on Wednesday COVID-19 infection and 19 deaths, pushing the caseload and death toll to 28,99,195 and 36,456 respectively, health Department Said.
There were 22,569 active cases, while 1,430 patients were cured, taking the total number of recoveries to 28,40,147.
The department said the positivity rate for the day was 1.03 per cent and the case fatality rate was 1.24 per cent.
Bangalore Urban District 376 new infections were reported, the highest among all the districts of the state, while three deaths were reported on Wednesday.
The city has so far reported 12,25,957 infections and 15,843 deaths.
There were 8,176 active cases.
The department’s bulletin said Dakshina Kannada emerged as the second major Covid-19 hotspot with 337 new cases and five deaths.
Other districts of the state also reported fresh infections including 109 in Udupi, 97 in Hassan, 93 in Mysore and 86 in Shivamogga.
According to the bulletin, deaths were reported in 11 districts including Bengaluru, Dakshina Kannada, Bengaluru Rural and Udupi.
Not a single death was reported in 19 districts in Karnataka on Wednesday. Gadag, Koppal and Ramnagar: Zero infections and zero deaths reported.
The state has collected 1,48,319. organized covid 1,18,524 tests including RT-PCR test and other methods.
In all, 3.82 crore tests have been conducted so far, the department said.
On Wednesday, 1,35,015 vaccinations were conducted, taking the total number of vaccinations to 2.96 crore.
