Kolkata Weather: Intermittent winter, westerly rains in the state towards the end of the year

Shivering from the cold, the people of Kolkata enjoyed the winter for many days. The question for the festive Bengalis was whether it would be cold even in Christmas and New Year? However, the Meteorological Department is disappointed that the temperature will increase in Kolkata in the next few days. In the beginning of Christmas and New Year, the outbreak of cold will be less.

According to the forecast, the pair will be prevented from entering the north by cold winds at the end of this week. Meanwhile, due to the pair of western storms, there is a possibility of rain once again in North Bengal. There is a possibility of light rain in Darjeeling, Kalimpong from Friday to Monday. However, the Met Office says that the north wind will return once the westerly storm subsides. As a result, winter will return to its glory. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department said that despite the increase in day temperature in the next one week, winter mood will remain in the night.



Meanwhile, on Christmas and New Year, Kolkata and adjoining areas will also get cold. Alipore Meteorological Office has said that there will be no cold in Kankan on December 25. At such temperatures, the mercury has already started moving upwards. The day’s maximum and minimum temperatures on Thursday were 23.6 degrees Celsius and 13.1 degrees Celsius, respectively. The weather will remain pleasant on Friday as well. The maximum temperature of the day in Kolkata will be around 25 degrees and the minimum temperature will be around 14 degrees. It will gradually increase over the next few days. So not only on Christmas, but also on New Year’s Eve the temperature will be at its highest.
