Kerala: Father drowns while teaching son swimming lessons. Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Thiruvananthapuram: A 40-year-old man died on Tuesday after he drowned in a river while teaching his little ones swimming lessons.
The deceased has been identified as Shashi of Devtheertham HouseParappil in Kallara village. He was a government employee, working as a villager in Pullampara village office.
Police said that the incident took place at around 6 pm under Chelanchi. Palode Police station limits outside the city.
According to eyewitnesses, Shashi drowned in the river Vamanapuram River under Chelanchi bridge.
He reached the spot along with his six-year-old son. Finishto teach him to swim. Around 6 in the evening, they saw Shashi struggling to keep hold of his son. When he drowned in the water, he was still trying to keep his son above the water.
The people who ran to the rescue managed to save the first child, after which they also pulled Sasi out of the water. By the time he was pulled out of the water, he was unconscious.
Though he was taken to the Government Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, the doctors declared him brought dead.
