Kejriwal slams BJP for ‘use and throw policy’ for Parrikar family; Utpal invited to join AAP for Goa elections

After Utpal Parrikar, son of late Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, failed to make it to the BJP’s list of candidates for next month’s Goa Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday slammed the saffron party. But accused of adopting one. “Use and throw policy even with Parrikar family”. Kejriwal invited Utpal Parrikar to join AAP and contest the assembly elections on his ticket.

Goans feel very sad that BJP has adopted the policy of use and throw even with Parrikar family. I have always respected Manohar Parrikar ji. Utpal ji is most welcome to join and contest elections on AAP ticket.”

Utpal Parrikar, who is demanding BJP ticket from Panaji seat, could not find the party’s candidate as per the list of 34 candidates announced on Thursday.

Manohar Parrikar, who passed away in March 2019 while serving as the chief minister of the coastal state, had represented the constituency for more than two decades. Announcing the list of candidates for Goa elections to be held on February 14, BJP state election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis said in Delhi that the party had given Utpal Parrikar four other options, which he did not accept. Utpal Parrikar could not be reached for comments.
