KALYAN: Till last day for raising objections and suggestions on the draft ward demarcation for the upcoming Kalyan-Dombivli Muicipal Corporation (KDMC) election, the civic body till Monday received 997 objections and suggestions.

The Kalyan (East) Assembly’s BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad have also raised objections on prepared draft ward demarcation claiming that the civic body has not followed any of the Election Commission guidelines while forming the revised wards.
He alleged that the municipal officials who formed the wards did not visit the municipal area but the wards were formed with a view to getting more votes for the ruling party.
Gaikwad has claimed that the draft ward demarcation prepared by the KDMC is completely unacceptable and demanded that it should be revised properly before publishing by taking proper hearings on objections.
Gaikwad has blamed that nearby Ulhasnagar’s 4 numbers some areas also included in KDMC area which also falls in Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation and the election commission should take serious note of the same.
This is the first time KDMC election to be held on a panel basis and each panel will have three wards.
