Anna Hazare speaking language of BJP, air has fizzled out of his andolans, says Shiv Sena | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: Taking a dig at social activist Anna Hazare for threatening a hunger strike against the Maharashtra government’s decision permitting sale of wine in supermarkets and grocery stores, the Shiv Sena on Tuesday said Anna was speaking the language of the BJP and that the air had fizzled out of his andolans.
The Sena in an editorial in its mouthpiece Saamna said that During the Congress rule in Delhi and Maharashtra, Anna used to go on hunger strikes and agitations. “But now Anna Hazare speaks the language of BJP. Anna’s failure is that the air in every andolan of Anna has fizzled out and no one takes him seriously since the Modi-Shah government came to power. Those who blew the trumpet against corruption at Ramlila Maidan and Jantar Mantar are now seated in power in Delhi,” the editorial said.
“The Lokpal for which Anna fought, has not been appointed in Gujarat even today, Delhi is far away! I have been fasting for so long, but the poor BJP workers are not ready to appoint a Lokpal. Why live now? This is what Anna should have said. Besides, the greatness of Anna Hazare is due to Maharashtra. Anna worked for water conservation and village improvement in the state. Popatrao Pawar also did similar work. For this he was awarded the Padma Shri. But he never said he On the contrary, it takes luck to be born in Maharashtra. Those who do not want to live in Maharashtra should be called ungrateful. On the andolan against the sale of wine, only Anna is aware of what he is protesting against and at whose behist,” the editorial said.
Last week, Hazare had decided to suspend his proposed hunger strike from Monday against the Maharashtra government’s decision permitting sale of wine in supermarkets and grocery stores, saying the state government has assured it will take into consideration the views of citizens before going ahead with the policy . Recently, Hazare had written a letter to chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, saying people of the state have demanded that the policy permitting sale of wine at supermarkets and walk-in shops be called back immediately.
