Kavita Lad-Medhekar’s ‘Last Entry’ on the sets of Marathi drama Ek Lagnachi Pudhachi Goshta

Writer-director Advait Dadarkar’s Ek Lagnachi Pudhachi Goshta was a laughing riot. Taking cues from modern-day matrimonial situations, it presented a modern set-up while retaining traditional values. Kavita Lad-Medhekar, a prominent name in Marathi plays, played the role of Manisha in Ek Lagnachi Pudchi Goshta. The actor has always stunned fans with his acting chops and the variety he brings to his character.

A few weeks back, Eka Lagnachi Pudchi Goshta completed 500 episodes, which has attracted fans. Recently, in an interview with Sulekha Talwalkar on Dil Ke Qarib, Kavita opened up on the memories she created during her stint in the play.

The actor shared that he had bid adieu to the show as his son and daughter-in-law were ready to embrace parenthood. He said, ‘Then Ek Shaadi Ka Kahani was a superhit. We did about 836 experiments with that play. But when my daughter-in-law was pregnant, I decided to leave the drama. I decided what I really needed to do was learn how to do it the right way.”

Recalling her last entry on the sets of the play, Eka Lagnachi Pudhchi Goshta, Kavita admitted that the moment she realized her last entry, she felt all the dialogues spoken by her. “But just before my last experiment and the last entry of that play, I suddenly realized that this is my last experiment, this is my last entry and I can’t say when I’ll be back. Slowly I got to know each dialogue. I felt it and my co-stars felt it,” said the actor.

Revolving around the married couple Manoj and Manisha, Eka Lagnachi Pudhachi Goshta stars Prashant Damle, Kavita Medhekar, Atul Tondankar and Minal Chemburkar. Ek Lagnachi Pudhachi Goshta was the sequel to the hugely popular drama Eka Lagnachi Goshta.
